Nailing Slot
The punched-out part of a nailing hem (material removed) for the purpose of fastening a siding panel.
NFRC
National Fenestration Rating Council. A body that has established methods for rating and certifying the energy performance of windows, doors, skylights and other fenestration products.
North Star Series 1000
The 1000 Series North Star windows have a traditional look with a 3-1/4″ deep frame that is well suited for most applications. Energy-efficient and durable, this window is available in a casement, awning, single-hung, double-hung, single-slider, double-slider and custom shape.
North Star Series 4000/5000
Series 4000/5000 North Star windows are available in two frame depths – 4-1/2″ (4000 Series) and 5-1/4″ (5000 Series) – this full-frame window positions the insulated glass unit on the warm side of the building envelope (the interior wall of your home), for reduced condensation and greater comfort. Palladian Window
A palladian window is a specific type of window design, a large, three-section window where the center section is arched and larger than the two side sections.
Picture Window

Polycarbonate
A plastic material used for glazing.
PVC (polyvinylchloride)
A thermoplastic material used for building components. (eg: siding, soffit, fascia, rain gutter, window and door profiles)
R-value
The R-value represents the resistance a material has to heat flow. It measures the effectiveness of insulation in stopping heat flow. There is no set rating scale.
